<p>The paper focuses on the occurrence of catastrophic mud losses whilst drilling conductor holes in Dulisminskoye oil and gas condensate field and provides an analysis of the geological structure of Narynsko-Ostashkinskaya block, Kemerovo region, and Dulisminskoye oil<br />and gas condensate field. <p align="left">The well casing and completion laboratory of LLC Gazprom VNIIGAZ has developed a new line of cationic drilling mud systems (Catburr) which do not have deficiencies typical of other drilling muds. Over 15 Catburr modifications have been analyzed and patented, including three mud systems which have been field-tested in suprasalt and salt deposits in
Astrakhanskoye gas and condensate field. The findings show that cationic mud systems are highly effective in drilling through clay and salt deposits in the presence of high temperature and other aggressive environments. Following the field testing of cationic drilling muds, a
decision was taken to proceed with drilling six production wells in Astrakhanskoye gas and condensate field, using the various Catburr mud systems.</p>

<p>The paper provides a detailed description of extended reach well casing in Yablunevskoye field, Ukraine, and sidetrack casing in the offshore field<br>of Umid, Azerbaijan. In both cases, LLC NewTech Services provided well casing design, which was approved by the Customers, a modernization programme for US-manufactured standard equipment, and designer’s<br>supervision services for construction, tool running and well casing. <p>The paper provides an analysis of fundamentally new mathematical approaches and modes for well design and drilling management. The analysis allows to determine the main properties of the Euler spiral, profile combinations based on the Euler spiral as a transition curve for curved sections of a proposed extended reach hole and shallow pay zone.<br>The authors have completed the initial phase of work including the comparison between a conven tional profile and a profile calculated on the basis of the Euler spiral. The proposed model includes the use of a profile with bi-clothoid as an effective solution for wells with high<br>dog-leg severity and zenith angles.</p>

<p align="left">The paper provides details of compositions and technologies designed to prevent lost circulation in complex geological conditions of East Siberian fields.<br>Lightweight aerated cement slurry which is compatible with lightweight aerated abrasive buffer is characterized by elasticity, carrying ability, sedimentation and suffusion resistance, controlled density that is modified through the variation of intensity and duration of hydrodynamic activation.</p>

<p align="left">Currently the growth of water encroachment on many fields is higher than the reservoir depletion degree and it is steadily growing in spite of different geological and technical activities which aimed at gas extraction rate increasing.<br>The activities for protective shield forming between aquifer and gas reservoirs are required for improving well operations with plantar shallow aquifer, its cost-effective operation prolongation and for the most complete development of the reservoir.</p>

<p align="left">Currently the growth of water encroachment on many fields is higher than the reservoir depletion degree and it is steadily growing in spite of different geological and technical activities which aimed at gas extraction rate increasing. The activities for protective shield forming between aquifer and gas reservoirs are required for improving well operations with plantar shallow aquifer, its cost-effective operation prolongation and for the most complete development of the reservoir.</p>
