<p>Horizontal drilling is a highly effective method to boost output and improve productivity. As the number of horizontal wells continues to grow there is a need for assessment of the effects of drilling fluid properties and hydrodynamic pressure on the quality of well completion. The paper provides an analysis of how drilling fluid properties influence hydrodynamic pressures. The analysis is based on drilling mud testing and data processing. <p>Horizontal drilling is a highly effective method to boost output and improve productivity. As the number of horizontal wells continues to grow there is a need for assessment of the effects of drilling fluid properties and hydrodynamic pressure on the quality of well completion. The paper provides an analysis of how drilling fluid properties influence hydrodynamic pressures. The analysis is based on drilling mud testing and data processing. The research has revealed special properties of the fluids and enabled to assess the effectiveness of using the subject fluids in the geological environments of Kyrtaelskoye field.</p>

As to the wellbore quality, effective diameter should be used as a criterion for the assessment of wellbore configuration required for successful casing running. The authors have analyzed the field’s geological structure and operating conditions for the selected equipment and developed a mathematical model of aerodynamic characteristics of conductor drilling using a downhole hammer in Chayadinskoye oil, gas and condensate field.</p>

<p>Oilwell drilling is often affected by self-excited «stick-slip» vibrations, which can highly accelerate the wear of the PDC bits. The aim of the paper is to analyze the methodologies which allow to prevent the occurrence of these vibrations. This paper presents the new method which provides identical speed rotation of a bit.</p>

<p>The performance of horizontal wells penetrated anisotropic layers it affects a large number of factors. For well production revealed the anisotropic formation similar to the well production rate which revealed an isotropic layer is necessary either to increase the drawdown or increase the length of the horizontal section. In this paper we consider the influence of the anisotropy parameter, thickness and permeability of the anisotropic layer on the performance of a horizontal well. It is shown that at constant horizontal permeability and smaller the value of the anisotropy parameter, the greater the effect of anisotropy on performance so the greater the decrease in horizontal wells.</p>
