It is recommended that wear of BHA elements should be considered a criterion for the assessment of efficiency and a need for modification of design of roller cutter bits, drag bits, pilot reamers, bottomhole motors, centering devices, and other BHA elements in order to improve drilling performance. As to the wellbore quality, effective diameter should be used as a criterion for the assessment of wellbore configuration required for successful casing running. Recommendations are provided for the amendment of standards for drill bits, bottomhole motors, centering devices and other regulatory documents in order to improve the technology of well drilling.<\/p>\n
