The paper is focused on problems relating to optimization of extended reach well design in Lunskoye field offshore Sakhalin. Specifically, the paper considers all aspects of potential risks associated with the planning of borehole reduction from 17-1\/2 inches to 16 inches in the interval of 1264-3806 m MD with inclination angle exceeding 80 degrees and provides actual results of drilling such borehole and running a 13-3\/8\u2033 casing string.<\/p>\n
