In this article, the configuration of horizontal wells with multi-stage fracturing for the development of shale gas formation Longmaxi was optimized. The optimal values of configuration factors were obtained according to various criteria. By the criterion of maximizing the performance of horizontal well, the optimal orientation of lateral wellbore is the direction of minimum horizontal stress; the optimal hydraulic fracture conductivity is 10 to 50 mD\u2022m depending on the number of perforation clusters at each frac-stage. By the criterion of maximizing the NPV, the optimal horizontal wellbore length is 1400 m; the optimal number of frac-stages is 5 or 9 stages per 1000 m of horizontal section depending on the number of perforation clusters at each frac-stage; the optimal hydraulic fracture length is 500 \u2013 600 m. These optimized values are unique to Longmaxi formation, but this optimization method is universal. The method of configuration optimization of horizontal wells with multi-stage fracturing can be recommended to optimize the development of other shale gas reservoirs.<\/p>\n
