Experience of Association of drilling contractors
Russian Association of Drilling Contractors was established in 1992. Its founders - drilling enterprises and organizations of the Ministry of Oil and Gas Industry.
Currently, Association of Drilling Contractors has more than one hundred companies and organizations, including major oil and gas companies, research organizations, industry leading engineering plants, foreign companies, including:

In recent years, experts Association of drilling contractors developed and approved in the established order of about 30 industry regulations, and regulatory and technical documents, including:
- Safety Rules in the Oil and Gas Industry ”, PB 08-624-03, registered by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation on June 20, 2003, N4812, approved by the Gosgortekhnadzor of Russia of June 5, 2003, N 56;
- Federal rules and regulations in industrial security “Safety rules in the oil and gas industry”, RTN order of 12.03.2013 № 101, Registered in the in Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation of 19.04.2013 №28222;
- PB 08-623-03 “Safety rules for exploration and production of oil and gas fields in the continental shelf”;
- Federal norms and rules in the field of industrial safety "safety rules for offshore facilities of the oil and gas complex", RTN Order No. 105 (Registered in the Ministry of Justice of Russia on September 17, 2014 N 34077);
- MU 03-008-06 “Guidelines for safety review of drilling rigs and extending their service life”;
- Instruction for safe restoration of idle wells by sidetracking;
- Temporary procedures for prevention of incidents and bad workmanship while drilling wells; Instruction for drill string design.
Association of Drilling Contractors in the period from 1999 to 2015 performed the following work:
- examination of industrial safety of technical devices;
- examination of industrial safety of offshore oil and gas facilities and equipment;
- examination of industrial safety of design, working and other documentation;
- carrying out technical audits and inspections of offshore facilities.
From 1999 to 2019 the major projects that are completed Association of Drilling Contractors regarding the Expertise of industrial safety, obtain Permit for use of offshore oil and gas facilities and Technical audit were:

Association of Drilling Contractors performs research work focused on improving the technical and technological solutions for drilling and production, as well as the creation of innovative technologies for the oil and gas industry. In recent years, Association of Drilling Contractors made a number of research and development on topics:
- The procedure for selection, use, and chartering of offshore drilling rigs for the construction of exploratory wells in the license areas of JSC"NK" Rosneft "on the shelf of the Russian Federation;
- Development of measures on conducting preventive work to prevent accidents and complications in the production facilities, construction and transportation of gas of JSC"Gazprom";
- The federal rules and regulations in the field of industrial safety "Safety in the oil and gas industry," subject to the provisions and amendments of the current legislation of the Russian Federation in exchange PB 08-624-03 (OJSC "TNK-BP Management", OJSC "Surgutneftegas");
- Technical and technological solutions to optimize the process of construction of wells in the CBM fields. Technical and technological solutions improve the efficiency of arrangement of gas fields in the CBM fields for JSC"Gazprom Promgaz" and others.
