The paper offers solutions for improvement of turbodrilling technology through development of high capacity turbines to help increase diamond bit performance. The authors analyze performance data of standard turbodrills and downhole drilling motors using unsupported bits, and present new turbine performance data as favorably compared to those of conventional turbines.
