Key words: penetration rate; auxiliary work time; cost per meter; bit service time; predictive estimate; control criterion; automated control system; drilling operations.
The paper looks into the issue of model representation of auxiliary works time as a function of on-bottom time. For a linear model of on-bottom time and parabolic model of auxiliary works time, a formula has been developed to find the optimal time on bottom, based on the generally accepted efficiency criteria (minimum cost per meter, maximum run speed). As part of the automated control system “Drilling Operations”, an algorithm has been created for controlling and predicting time on bottom based on the technical and economic model and the new notion of “run-technical-economic” drilling rate. An original format of representation of on-bottom time control and prediction has been provided based on a “plan – actual – model – prediction” scheme.
