The paper provides results of computational investigations into the processes of oil extraction from formations with super collectors utilizing continuous and cyclic flooding methods. A procedure has been developed for planning, conducting and analyzing results of computation-
al investigations into oil extraction mechanisms. Continuous flooding is used for sustainable flowrate in various geological conditions to ensure maximum water penetration into low permeability layers, which is achieved through capillary imbibition and a balance of oil and water production. Cyclic flooding is performed in production and injection wells, a production well being shut during the flooding operation and fluid extraction at high formation pressure.
The paper provides new process solutions for cyclic flooding, including maximum duration of a full cycle with maximum asymmetry.
