Key words: horizontal well; drilling fluid; well completion; hydrodynamic pressure; rheologial properties; rheogram; pressure loss; equivalent circulation density.
Horizontal drilling is a highly effective method to boost output and improve productivity. As the number of horizontal wells continues to grow there is a need for assessment of the effects of drilling fluid properties and hydrodynamic pressure on the quality of well completion. The paper provides an analysis of how drilling fluid properties influence hydrodynamic pressures. The analysis is based on drilling mud testing and data processing. The research has revealed special properties of the fluids and enabled to assess the effectiveness of using the subject fluids in the geological environments of Kyrtaelskoye field.
