When operating floating drilling rigs and building wells in marine environments, the formation of waste is an important environmental impact factor. A significant number of requirements for waste management are presented to nature users by legislation. Based on the experience of LLC Gazprom Flot, which is leading the construction of wells on the shelf of Sakhalin Island using semi-submersible drilling rigs, an analysis of the factors affecting the waste management process was carried out. Proposals have been prepared on the improvement of legislation with regard to waste management.
