Key words:development of the Russian continental shelf, shallow water areas, ice structures, drilling of exploratory wells, continental shelf of the Arctic.
This work is devoted to the study of methods of construction of ice island structures for drilling exploratory wells in shallow water conditions and a critically short inter-ice period that is insufficient for the use of non-ice-resistant structures.
Taking into account the results of field experiments, the advantages and disadvantages of the applied methods are shown and recommendations for their improvement are given.
