Key words: «Prodaneshti» field, drilling fluids, clay drilling mud, bentonite clay, slurry yield.
Heterogeneous polydisperse systems with dispersed solid phase achieved large application among drilling fluids. To this class belong the most widely used clay drilling muds.
In this paper are shown structural-mineralogical aspects of bentonite clays from «Prodaneshti» field. According to standard method the slurry yield was determined with effective viscosity n eff = 15mPa/sec. The determination of plastic viscosity and yield point was conducted on FANN 35 rotational viscometer.
The research of moldavian bentonite clays with the purpose of implementation in drilling fluids represents a great theoretical and practical interest. The absence of industrial exploitation on the «Prodaneshti» field attracts exceptional attention for producing new qualitative clay powders and the development of the regional market of raw materials.
