This article describes an approach of the LLC «ISC «PetroEngineering» company to the PDC bits selection and the optimum time definition of their work, and an improved mathematical model is provided that allows to choose the best bit from several competing ones, based on ensuring a minimum cost per meter of penetration or a maximum bit run speed.
