Key words: polycationic drilling fluids, drilling fluid operating time, disposal, reuse, Astrakhan gas condensate field.
In the process of drilling wells, an excess volume of drilling fluid accumulates, which must be disposed of and creates a potential threat to the environment.
The determining factor affecting the accumulation of excess fluid volume and, therefore, posing a threat to the environment, is the properties of the drilling fluid. Firstly, the drilling fluid must be environmentally friendly, secondly, it must have high inhibiting and anchorage properties that ensure the stability of the fluid, and thirdly, it must reduce the utilization of the volume of fluid, which is achieved by creating reusable drilling fluids.
On the example of the Astrakhan gas condensate field, the problem of minimizing the utilized volumes of drilling fluid is considered. Drilling of wells at the Astrakhan gas condensate field is carried out using polycationic drilling fluids, which prevent production, reduce drilling waste and minimize complications.
In order to prevent the disposal of drilling fluids and reduce the environmental burden on the environment, it is recommended to increase the capacity of the tank farm for storing and reusing polycationic drilling fluids.
