Key words: well drilling, downhole screw motor, process stability.
The stability of the screw downhole motor (PDM) during rotation of the drill string is considered. It is shown that stops of foreign economic activity during operation at the bottom of the well lead to a decrease in drilling performance. A formula is obtained for determining the minimum allowable mechanical penetration rate provided by the PDM.
