Key words: shallow shelf, technical accessibility, classification of shallow-water fields.
Apart from hydrocarbon potential, accessibility is also extremely important for the selection of priority sections of prospective Arctic offshore fields. The paper provides a review of issues relating to accessibility of offshore oil and gas fields. Provided is a classification of shallow water fields in the Arctic shelf by technologies involved and geological conditions. Based on this classification, paper allows to assess the prospects for available technologies application, outline new technology concepts, review equipment operation conditions and create technology solutions for the production of wallow water hydrocarbons, determine development priority and assess cost efficiency
