Blowout preventer is a complex system with dynamically changing set of parameters, comprising a certain number of components. New analytical methods of BOP operation risk assessment have been provided to improve blowout prevention capabilities. The following documents have been issued for the expert assessment of BOP operation risks: the expert assessment procedure; the procedure for expert group formation and assessment of representativeness based on the expert’s aggregate index calculated on the basis of a scoring system; risk assessment methods, assessment tables, forms, risk range tables. Qualimetry-based methods have been provided to process the expert assessment results.

Blowout preventers is a complex system with dynamic variation of parameters, consisting of a certain number of elements. New analytical methods of BOP risk assessment are used to ensure drilling safety. BOP risk assessment comprises the expert review procedure; the order of expert team development and performance assessment based on an aggregate expert index which is determined by scoring; risk assessment methods, scoring tables, fill-in-the-blank forms, risk ranking tables. A method based on qualimetry scales has been developed to process expert assessment results.
