The article concerns the issues of mechanics of rock mass, analyzes the essence of mechanical processes in plastic rocks; provides various methods to calculate rock pressure and support; describes patterns of interaction of discontinuous and combined media; covers the problem of methods to predict deformation and fracture of rocks; consideration is given to physical and mechanical properties of soil, geodynamic processes and their influence on facilities, distribution of stress and deformation in rocks; there are calculations of dynamic environments, soft soil stabilization techniques, engineering practices.
