The analysis of operation of the PDC bit with a downhole drilling motor (DDM) for drilling an inclined wellbore is presented. It is shown that the use of downhole motors with an increased angle of curvature can lead to a deterioration in the geometry of the wellbore and a significant increase in the timing of the construction of the well, despite the fact that the rationale for setting such an angle on the DDM is «reducing the drilling time in the slide.»
