Key words: exploitation of gas hydrates, heating method, pressure reducing method, chemical inhibitor injection method, CO2 replacement method, fluidization of the solid state.
Gas hydrates are a new kind of environmentally friendly source of energy with enormous reserves. The article compares the main differences in the methods of development of gas hydrates deposits and discusses the problems of their implementation. A new method of “liquefaction of the solid state” is proposed, offering a solution to the scientific and technical problems associated with the extraction of gas from gas hydrates in offshore non-diagenetic reservoirs of the South China Sea. Suggestions for advanced research and development in the field of gas production from hydrates are provided.
