MAIN FEATURES OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF OIL AND GAS RESOURCES ON THE CONTINENTAL SHELF

The article presents the fundamental differences between the development of offshore and onshore oil and gas fields. A methodological approach is shown for determining the main directions of innovative methods and technology development, taking into account the criteria and their interaction, influencing the selection of the type of offshore oil and gas field. It is stated that the efficiency of the offshore oil and gas fields construction and operation, especially for the Arctic shelf conditions, depends on the skillful application of the science and technology achievements in many areas of industry.
