The article focuses on classification of highly deviated and subhorizontal wells.
Analysis of friction force generated during trips in directional wells provided basis for a general classification of subhorizontal wells using criteria such as target vertical depth, target deviation from formation top, profile type, build section radius.
The proposed solutions may find applications in directional and horizontal well planning.
