РThe paper focuses on the methodological approach to selection of drilling mud formulation to drill through depleted Jurassic reservoirs. It is shown how the radius of mud filtrate invasion and other factors affect reservoir penetration while drilling. The author identifies different colmatation zones in low permeability collectors with formation pressures lower than a hydrostatic pressure and microfractures in rocks. Drilling mud with certain structural and rheological properties is designed to prevent drilling failures in a borehole with accumulated cuttings.
