PROSPECTS  FOR  APPLICATION  OF  HIGH  PRESSURE  DRILLING  AT  LOW  CIRCULATION  RATES.

Development and implementation of an efficient hydraulic program is an important part of the well drilling optimization process. The selection of a circulation rate is traditionally determined by requirements of the drill cuttings transport though the annulus.  A split-flow turbodrill enables to materially reduce specific rate of circulation.  This flushing mode allows reducing of bottomhole differential pressure; lower flow turbulence leads to lower water loss which helps to increase drilling performance.   These turbodrills are able to extend the range of effective application of the turbine drilling, especially when used with PDC bits.
